5th Class ~ Personal Styles
Artist do not go where the path may lead, they go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Ralph Waldo Emerson

Dancers Matisse 1912 and Picasso 1925
Dancers exemplifies their differences: both use distortion; Matisse is playful and all about color; Picasso is aggressive and all about drawing.
Sleeping Woman Picasso 1931 ~ Matisse 1940
They continually inspired each other. Woman shows them trading styles, both use a spiral composition with repeating shapes: Picasso simplifies shapes; Matisse contorts them.

We all seem to have an innate style.
